SHREVEPORT, La. — Willis Knighton Breast Centers will offer Saturday screening mammogram appointments at two locations in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Appointments will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 17 at Willis Knighton Breast Center Portico, 7845 Youree Drive, and on Oct. 10 and 24 at Bossier Pavilion Imaging Center, 2449 Hospital Drive.
Routine weekday appointments remain available at both locations and at Willis Knighton’s North, South and Palmetto locations.
A physician referral is required. Patients can request an appointment at 318-212-8550. Those who need a physician to order a mammogram can call 318-212-4232.
Willis Knighton said the added Saturday hours are intended to make screening more accessible. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that people at average risk begin screening mammograms at age 40; those with higher risk factors or a family history should discuss the timing with their healthcare provider.
