SHREVEPORT, La. — Gasoline prices in Shreveport fell 1.5 cents per gallon over the past week to an average of $3.93 on Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 177 local stations. Despite the slight decline, the average is 32.3 cents higher than a month ago and $1.42 higher than a year ago.
GasBuddy reported Sunday prices ranging from $3.74 to $4.29 per gallon at Shreveport stations, a 55-cent difference. The Louisiana average stood at $3.99, up slightly from the previous week. Dallas averaged $3.81 after a 15.2-cent decline, while Little Rock averaged $3.97, down 1.5 cents.
Nationally, gasoline averaged $4.42 per gallon, down 1.6 cents for the week but up 35.9 cents from a month ago. The national diesel average fell 4.1 cents to $6.449 per gallon. Diesel prices remain a particular concern for businesses that rely on freight and deliveries.
Patrick De Haan, GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, said price trends varied by region as refinery conditions changed. He said oil prices below $100 per barrel could bring modest gasoline declines in many areas, though geopolitical developments could quickly change the outlook.
GasBuddy’s national figures draw on more than 11 million weekly price reports from over 150,000 stations.
