BOSSIER CITY, La. — Two 26th Judicial District Court judges provided an update on Bossier Parish court operations Tuesday during a Bossier Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Series event.
Judges Michael Nerren and Jeff Thompson discussed the local judicial system and answered questions from members of the business community. Nerren also outlined the workload of the six judges who serve Bossier and Webster parishes in the 26th Judicial District.
The judges discussed Bossier Parish’s practice of having a judge on call during weekends and around the clock throughout the week. The event also highlighted the parish’s drug court program and the number of cases handled by the district.
“We should be proud of the judiciary work being done in Bossier Parish,” Bossier Chamber President and CEO Lisa Johnson said. “Our Bossier judges are working incredibly hard to bring justice and help our community in every way they can. We appreciate the Honorable Judge Nerren and Judge Thompson for speaking to the business community today.”
The chamber’s Public Policy Series is intended to connect its members with government officials and provide information about state and federal government, public policy and government spending.
Two additional events are scheduled for October. A Transportation Symposium is set for Oct. 15 and is expected to include state, regional and local transportation officials and experts.
The chamber’s Legislative Wrap-Up is scheduled for Oct. 19 with Will Green, president and CEO of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry.
