by BIZ Magazine

The Grambling State University Presidential Search Committee has made significant progress in its quest to find the institution’s next leader, announcing three finalists who will vie for the prestigious position.

Following a rigorous selection process, the committee voted unanimously to name the following finalists:

  1. Dr. Gregory Ford: Tenured Associate Professor of Biology, Southern University at New Orleans
  2. Dr. Martin Lemelle: Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Maryland Institute College of Art
  3. Dr. Monica Williams: Foundation President/CEO & Vice President of Advancement, University of North Texas at Dallas

These finalists will have the opportunity to present themselves to the full Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System, marking a crucial step in the selection process.

The Board is set to convene for a special meeting on Thursday, Feb. 22, during which they will conduct interviews with the finalists and ultimately choose Grambling State University’s next president.

Expressing gratitude to the Grambling community for their active participation in the search process, System President and Search Committee Chair Rick Gallot highlighted the significance of the input received from students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

“Guided by your substantial input, the Search Committee fulfilled its charge by selecting the three finalists who embody the unique qualifications needed to lead Grambling State University,” Gallot stated.

Interested parties can access the relevant materials and semifinalist interviews of the finalists on the university’s website. All information pertaining to the search process is available at ulsystem.edu/gramblingsearch.
