by BIZ Magazine

Radiance Technologies and the Independence Bowl Foundation have announced the finalists of the second-annual Radiance Technologies Innovation Bowl.

The Innovation Bowl is an academic competition between schools affiliated with the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl and is sponsored by both Radiance Technologies and the Independence Bowl Foundation.

Student-led teams compete for a $25,000 grand prize in two phases. During the Fall Semester, teams formulate their idea by demonstrating the feasibility of their concept. In the second phase during the Spring semester, they further develop their idea into a demonstration. This year’s topic is Micro-Electronic Packaging.

Radiance Technologies received submissions from numerous schools and announced the finalists during the game at the 2023 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl between Texas Tech and California. The finalists are listed below.

University of Utah’s submission: “Investigation of Forced Convection Heat Transfer to Supercritical Carbon Dioxide in an Additively Manufactured Cold Plate.”

Louisiana Tech University’s submission: “Thermal Solutions to Enable Tighter Integration of Chiplets in Advanced Packages.”

These two finalist teams will further develop their ideas and present their findings in person at a Radiance facility this spring. The winning team will be awarded with the $25,000 grand prize.
