YPI Lunch and Learn to focus on physical and mental health

The Young Professionals Initiative will host a Lunch and Learn event with three local wellness experts teaching best practices for owning physical and mental health.

The event will be held noon Thursday, September 8 at the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Plaza at 400 Edwards Street, Shreveport. Registration check-in begins at 11:30 a.m.

Speakers are Jessica Latin, Dr. LaTonya Mister, and Brandi Barber Stephens. Lear more about them below:

Jessica Latin, M.A., LPC-S, NCC, PMH-C is a skillful and dynamic licensed professional counselor specializing in perinatal mental health. In 2013, she earned her master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance and a graduate certificate in Dynamics of Domestic and Family Violence from Louisiana Tech University. She is licensed in three states: Louisiana, Georgia, and Texas; and, is the owner of JL Counseling, a mental health private practice, located in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dr. LaTonya Mister is the owner of SOW & REAP Physical Therapy in Bossier City, LA. She graduated from MS State University in 2005 with a Bachelors in Kinesiology. She graduated from the University of MS Medical Center in 2008 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Brandi Barber Stephens has a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Master of Science in Nursing. She has educated and treated patients throughout the family spectrum. Together with her husband of almost 20 years Dr. Shomichael Stephens, Brandi owns Southern Loop Nutrition, Pelican Healthcare Services, and Headrick’s Drug Store.
