RUSTON, La. — Willis Knighton Health plans to construct a 90,000-square-foot medical office building in Ruston as part of a $50 million investment to expand access to healthcare in Lincoln Parish and surrounding areas.
Groundbreaking for the four-story facility, designed by Somdal Associates, is scheduled for 2026, with construction expected to take about 18 months, depending on weather conditions. The building will be located along the Interstate 20 corridor at 1100 Willow Glen Drive.
The facility will consolidate existing Willis Knighton Physician Network clinics in Ruston and provide room for future expansion. Planned features include outpatient care, a canopied entrance, ample parking and landscaping designed to complement the environment.
“We have a long history of serving people from Ruston and the surrounding area,” said Jaf Fielder, president and CEO of Willis Knighton Health. “This building will allow us to consolidate our Willis Knighton Physician Network clinics in one location with shared services, offering greater efficiencies for them and their patients. It also allows us the opportunity to add additional services and specialties, based on the needs of the community.”
Current Willis Knighton clinics in Ruston include family medicine, pediatrics, cardiology, orthopaedics and sports medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology practices. The network employs about 40 staff members locally.
Fielder said the health system looks forward to working with local businesses and organizations as it strengthens its presence in Ruston.
