After celebrating a ribbon cutting at its new location, Whisk Dessert Bar has announced it is closing its doors permanently.
The business shared the news on its Facebook page Tuesday, September 2, posting only the words “Permanently Closed!” The brief message left customers with unanswered questions, particularly those holding gift certificates.
Whisk had recently moved from its longtime home on Wallace Lake Road in Shreveport to a new spot inside Red River Billiards on Brookshire Grocery Arena Drive in Bossier City. The relocation was intended to give the bakery a fresh start and greater visibility, making the sudden closure all the more unexpected.
The announcement drew immediate attention across social media, where many longtime patrons expressed surprise and disappointment. The bakery had earned a loyal following in the Shreveport-Bossier area for its specialty desserts and creative menu.
No explanation was provided regarding the closure, nor were details shared on how the business plans to handle pending orders or outstanding certificates.
