WEBSTER PARISH, La. — An 84-acre industrial property along Interstate 20 in Webster Parish has received certification from Louisiana Economic Development, adding the Moore Site to the state’s inventory of properties prepared for industrial development.
The Louisiana Economic Development Certified Industrial Site designation follows a review of factors including ownership, environmental conditions, utilities, transportation access and other development requirements.
The certification process is intended to reduce uncertainty for companies evaluating locations and shorten the time needed to move from site selection to development.
The Moore Site consists of 84 contiguous acres with frontage along Interstate 20 to the north and U.S. Highway 80 to the south. North Louisiana Economic Partnership said the property could accommodate manufacturing, logistics and other industrial or commercial projects.
The property is positioned between the Shreveport-Bossier City, Minden and Ruston markets.
“This certification sends a strong message to companies looking to invest in Louisiana,” NLEP President and CEO Justyn Dixon said. “The Moore Site combines one of the region’s most valuable assets, Interstate 20 frontage, with the certainty that comes from being fully vetted through Louisiana’s Certified Sites Program.”
The property is owned by ELM Family Investments LLC. Roy Moore of ELM Family Investments said the certification process included due diligence that will assist the company in marketing the property for potential development.
“Winning projects begins long before a company ever visits a site,” Louisiana Economic Development Chief Economic Competitiveness Officer Ileana Ledet said. “LED Certified Sites reduce uncertainty, shorten timelines and give companies confidence they can move quickly.”
The certification involved collaboration among the property owner, NLEP, Louisiana Economic Development, Webster Parish Police Jury and Entergy Louisiana.
Webster Parish Police Jury President Jon Bonsall said the designation strengthens the parish’s ability to compete for business and industrial investment.
The Moore Site joins other LED Certified Sites across North Louisiana being marketed to companies considering industrial projects and capital investment in the region.
