LOUISIANA — The U.S. Postal Service is reminding customers in Louisiana that Post Office locations will be closed and regular mail delivery will not occur on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 16, 2026.
While retail counters will be closed for the federal holiday, the Postal Service said customers can continue to access a range of online and self-service options designed to support mailing needs and planning.
“Even on a federal holiday, customers have options to plan ahead and stay connected,” said James Chambers, Louisiana district manager for the Postal Service. “The Postal Service has continued to improve the tools and features people use most, and we encourage customers to take advantage of those convenient resources — especially if they’re planning to mail First-Class letters or important documents.”
Customers can use usps.com to purchase postage, print shipping labels, request services and find location information. Informed Delivery remains available for eligible addresses, allowing customers to preview incoming mail. Some Post Office locations also offer after-hours lobby access, including PO Box availability and self-service kiosks.
The Postal Service encouraged customers with time-sensitive mail or in-person retail needs to plan ahead of the holiday weekend and to use online tools when possible. Normal retail operations and mail delivery will resume Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026.
