SHREVEPORT, La. — Top Chef winner Tristen Epps will lead the inaugural Celebrity Chef BBQ Takeover during Prize Fest in Shreveport next month.
The event is scheduled for Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will pair national culinary talent with local chefs for a ticketed barbecue lunch. Epps will be joined by chefs Niema DiGrazia, Cindy Johnson, Stu Dyson and Hardette Harris.
Attendees will receive three meat selections — chicken, beef and pork — each served with a paired side, along with a dessert and one Budweiser beverage. Nonalcoholic drinks will also be available. Tickets are priced at $55 in advance and $65 at the door, with sales capped at 200.
Gregory Kallenberg, founder and executive director of the Prize Foundation, said the event will give festivalgoers a chance to interact directly with the chefs.
The BBQ Takeover is part of the broader Prize Fest, which includes competitions and showcases in film, food, music and comedy. Organizers said the festival will highlight independent filmmakers, musicians, comedians and emerging creative talent from northwest Louisiana and across the country.
