SHREVEPORT, La. — Robinson Film Center will open The Unspoken Frame: A Celebration of Silent Cinema on Oct. 22–23, highlighting the artistry and influence of early filmmaking through restored posters, screenings, and live performance.
The event will begin with an exhibit dedication and opening reception at 5 p.m. Oct. 22, featuring the unveiling of two restored silent-era film posters. The celebration continues Oct. 23 with a live performance accompanying Nosferatu (1922) at 7 p.m.
As part of the program, the center will also present a free community screening of Sherlock Jr. (1924) and showcase restored home movie footage edited by Robinson Film Center students.
“The visual grammar of silent cinema — gesture, montage, and movement — still echoes in every frame of modern film,” said Wendell Riley, executive director of Robinson Film Center. “This festival celebrates how those early storytellers shaped the way we watch movies today.”
