SHREVEPORT, La. — Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO) is continuing its decades-long partnership with the KTBS 3/St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, contributing more than $20,000 in sponsorships and incentives to the 2025 campaign.
This year’s support includes a $15,000 donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a $2,000 milestone prize for ticket buyers, and a $5,000 energy efficiency incentive for Rodgers Homes & Construction. The funds offset costs of installing energy-saving features such as heat pump water heaters, induction cooking, smart thermostats, and encapsulated attics in the $675,000 home located in Bossier City’s Duckwater Landing subdivision.
“From early support of the very first Dream Home built in Shreveport to today’s energy-efficient innovations, SWEPCO has remained committed to making each home more than a showpiece,” said SWEPCO President and COO Brett Mattison.
All 16,500 tickets for this year’s giveaway were sold out, raising more than $1.65 million for St. Jude, according to ALSAC/St. Jude representative Hannah Werner. Since its founding in Shreveport in 1991, the Dream Home Giveaway has raised more than $650 million nationwide.
SWEPCO, the first energy company in the country to partner with the Dream Home campaign, has contributed more than $100,000 in financial support, services, and prizes over the past six years. The company was named the 2023 Trade Partner of the Year by St. Jude.
Open houses for the 2025 Dream Home continue through Sept. 8, with weekend tours available at 779 Duckwater Landing in Bossier City.
