SHREVEPORT, La. – SporTran will debut its new autonomous transit vehicle, the SporTran EVOLVE, during the Louisiana State Fair, offering the public a first look at emerging transportation technology designed for safer and more sustainable urban mobility.
The SporTran EVOLVE demonstration vehicle will be on display from Oct. 31 through Nov. 9 at the Louisiana State Fair, 3701 Hudson St., where fairgoers, media and community leaders can view the autonomous, zero-emission model.
A media and officials-only demonstration is scheduled for Oct. 31 from 1 to 3 p.m. SporTran representatives and project partners Benteler Steel and Holon AV will be available for interviews and question-and-answer sessions.
“This demonstration marks an exciting preview of what’s next for public transportation in our community,” said Dinero’ Washington, CEO of SporTran. “The SporTran EVOLVE demo vehicle gives our riders and residents the opportunity to see and touch the future of autonomous transit before it arrives on city streets. This is innovation in motion, right here in Shreveport.”
