Shreveport has officially launched its Economic Development One-Stop-Shop website, a centralized online platform designed to streamline the process of starting and growing a business in the city. Unveiled on June 3 by Mayor Tom Arceneaux, the site aims to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and provide entrepreneurs with easy access to essential resources.
The website serves as a comprehensive hub for information on permits, licensing, zoning, site selection, and business incentives. It features user-friendly checklists tailored for various business types, including retail shops, restaurants, home-based operations, and food trucks. This initiative marks a significant step toward enhancing Shreveport’s business climate.
Developed in-house by the city’s Economic Development and Information Technology teams, the platform reflects Shreveport’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment. Mayor Arceneaux emphasized that this launch represents a cultural shift aimed at supporting businesses rather than overwhelming them with bureaucratic hurdles.
According to published reports, Bill Sabo, Director of Economic Development, highlighted the website’s purpose as a collaborative platform.
The launch of the Economic Development One-Stop-Shop is part of Shreveport’s broader strategy to continuously evolve and improve the resources available for businesses. The city plans to enhance the website further, using feedback from local businesses and stakeholders to ensure it meets the changing needs of the community.
