SHREVEPORT, La. — The Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) has advanced to the public voting phase for a $120,000 Levitt Foundation grant that would support a free outdoor live music series at Caddo Common Park beginning in 2026.
The grant, awarded over three years, would fund seven to 10 free concerts annually through 2028. Performances would feature a mix of local and national artists across genres including rock, pop, jazz, R&B, gospel, classical, and reggae.
Public voting runs Sept. 5–15 at levitt.org/vote, by text to 877-409-5525 with keyword SHREVEPORT, or by scanning a QR code available through SRAC’s website. Each person may vote for up to five proposals. The 50 top vote-getters will advance, with final grant recipients to be announced Nov. 18.
“This grant provides the chance to imagine a 10-week music series with a consistent three years of free outdoor music concerts,” said Rebecca Bonnevier, SRAC executive director.
Caddo Parish Commission President Stormy Gage-Watts said free programming at the park helps strengthen the community by boosting local talent, supporting economic activity, and improving quality of life. Mayor Tom Arceneaux encouraged residents to vote, calling the initiative an expansion of Shreveport’s long history of celebrating the arts.
The Levitt Foundation, based in Los Angeles, funds projects that use music to activate public spaces and foster community engagement.
