SHREVEPORT, La. – Average gasoline prices in Shreveport held steady over the past week, with prices averaging $2.57 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s latest survey of 177 stations in the area. That’s 10.9 cents lower than a month ago and a drop of 45.3 cents compared to this time last year.
The cheapest station in Shreveport was priced at $2.36, while the most expensive hit $3.09, a difference of 73 cents per gallon.
Across the state, gas prices ranged from $2.19 to $3.29, with the statewide average falling to $2.64, down 2.7 cents from the previous week.
Nationally, gas prices declined 4.2 cents, with the average now sitting at $3.08/gallon, while diesel prices fell to $3.47/gallon, nearing their lowest levels since 2021.
“Even with oil prices jumping over $4 per barrel last week, the national average continues to decline as refineries complete maintenance and ramp up production,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “We’re nearing the lowest seasonal prices since 2021.”
