SHREVEPORT, La. – The Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce will host the fifth annual Black Restaurant Week from Oct. 19–26, celebrating the region’s Black-owned restaurants, chefs, and food entrepreneurs with a week of food, culture, and community events.
More than 25 restaurants and bars will participate in this year’s milestone event, offering exclusive specials and curated dining experiences across Northwest Louisiana. The week begins with a launch event Oct. 19 at Vine Books & Vinyl in downtown Shreveport.
Signature events include:
- Cooking with the Commissioner on Oct. 20, featuring Caddo Commissioner Victor L. Thomas with chefs Monique Armand of Sassi Catering and Chris Hayes of The Smoking Oyster.
- Black Food Truck Night on Oct. 23 at Louisiana Daiquiri Café, with local food trucks, a DJ, and giveaways.
- Signed, Seared & Served on Oct. 24, an intimate dinner at Vine Books & Vinyl blending cuisine and conversation.
- Foodie Fest on Oct. 25 at MS Kick, a free family event hosted by Chef Mel, featuring food trucks, chef demos, and children’s activities.
- Midnight Brunch on Oct. 25 at 3840 Linwood Ave., a late-night dining event hosted by Eric Stephens and Mike Wilson, featuring dishes from Hoodbachi Taco and Hollywood Quick Stop.
Organizers said the initiative promotes economic growth and visibility for African American-owned restaurants, which often face barriers to marketing and access to resources.
While centered on celebrating Black culinary excellence, the week invites all residents and visitors to support local businesses and experience the diversity of Shreveport-Bossier’s food scene.
