BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Bossier Chamber of Commerce will host Susie Schowen, Secretary of Louisiana Works, and Tedra Cheatham, Executive Director of LED FastStart, as featured speakers for the final installment of its 2025 Public Policy Series, presented by Willis Knighton Health. The event will take place Monday, Oct. 27.
Schowen, who leads Louisiana Works, formerly the Louisiana Workforce Commission, previously served more than a decade with LED FastStart, the workforce development arm of Louisiana Economic Development. Her work has focused on building partnerships among industry, educators, and economic developers to align workforce training with employer needs across the state.
Cheatham heads LED FastStart, overseeing customized workforce solutions for businesses, including recruitment, curriculum design, and training programs. Her efforts aim to strengthen connections among business, education, and government sectors to support job creation and economic growth.
The session will highlight statewide initiatives by Louisiana Works and LED FastStart to enhance workforce readiness and economic competitiveness.
