If we needed a stark reminder of the danger of unlimited illegal immigration and the advance of Democrat Socialist policies, we have been given it this past week. A week from the U.S. midterm elections, our TV screens and social media are flooded with images of the damage from violent, far-Left riots in France.
The situation is so bad that some French officials offered to resign for so colossally misreading the situation while “brave” French President, Emmanuel Micron, immediately jetted out of the country. Some 550,000 people joined 110 “marches” (riots) nationwide, far exceeding an intelligence estimate of roughly 200,000 demonstrators.

As the New York Post puts it, “France is seeing its worst riots in decades—violence clearly aimed not simply at the ruling party, but at France itself—and the left-liberal establishment is still trying to blame a few bad apples. That’s true not just of President Emmanuel Macron, but of global media that claim it’s mainly about student grievances over budget cuts—at least one BBC article actually used the phrase ‘mostly peaceful protests.’ “This is nonsense: The street mobs haven’t been just (or even mostly) kids for weeks now, and the vandalism began in the first days.”
Our own U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson declared that the riots are the result of “France having overly lax rules for illegal immigration.” He continued “America is not merely in a battle of political ideologies—it’s a battle for the preservation of our civilization, our freedoms, and our way of life. If Democrats take back control, it will be open borders and criminal illegals overrunning our country, many of whom want to destroy it.”
Of course, we Americans have seen rioting before.
Recall the 2020 U.S. “Summer of Love” riots which injured and killed Americans and did billions of dollars of damage. Remember the burning of the American flag, riots, robberies, anarchists spitting in the face of police and especially the Black Lives Matter and Antifa violence and destruction. The 2020 riots took place in 140 U.S. cities and included arson, vandalism and looting that caused $2 billion in government and private property damage, caused injury to 2,000 police officers, and caused death to at least 19 Americans. (I always hoped the FBI would pursue the 2020 BLM and Antifa rioters with the same intensity it has relentlessly pursued the Jan. 6th marchers.)
President Trump weighed in stating, “If you want to see what is at stake in this election, just look at what’s happening in France,” blaming illegal aliens, jihadists and communists for the violence and accusing European left-wing leaders of pursuing immigration policies that undermine their own countries.
Trump has repeatedly urged European countries to close their borders and remove people who hate their adopted countries, while arguing that his administration’s immigration crackdown has protected the United States. Trump closed his remarks by declaring that “when you see burning steeples and raging fires in France, just remember that is what the radical Democrats wanna do to America.” (Fox News, 10-19-2026).
The New York Post describes the rioting in France with chilling accuracy:
“Foreign flags (Morocco, Algeria, “Palestine”) came out at the start; the crowds are mostly blacks and Arabs—overwhelmingly from Muslim immigrant communities, in other words. And the political statements are obvious: Burning down historic town halls; smashing a statue of Marianne, the symbol of the French Republic. Liberty isn’t leading these people, but a hatred for Western civilization itself. Leaders of that civilization who still insist on denial will either find themselves as former leaders, or “leading” a former civilization.
This is what is so dangerous about the plan of the Democrat Socialists of America. They want mass amnesty and an end to all immigration enforcement so they can convert all the illegals into Democrat (they hope) voters.
For this reason, we must continue to enforce America’s immigration laws and safeguard our national sovereignty. We must face the stark realization that when we import individuals from the Third World who not only do not share our culture, customs, or heritage but who have no intention of doing so, we face a national security threat.
France has now reminded us in a shocking fashion what illegal immigration looks like. The riots in France are unquestionably an attack on Western civilization itself. Millions of these illegals are not coming to assimilate. They are coming to invade and conquer. We must ferociously resist that here.
