BATON ROUGE, La. — The Bossier Chamber of Commerce continues to advocate for the region at the state Capitol, participating in key events and legislative discussions during two consecutive weeks of outreach in Baton Rouge.
From April 28–29, Chamber President Lisa Johnson, Vice President Jessica Hemingway, and Government Relations Chair Kevin Nolten joined Bossier leaders for Bossier Day at the Capitol, engaging with state agency heads and holding a one-on-one session with Governor Jeff Landry. Topics included insurance reform, tax policy, and strategic growth opportunities for the Bossier economy.
This week, Johnson and Hemingway returned to the Capitol to take part in Northern Exposure, a collaborative initiative spotlighting North Louisiana. During this event, regional leaders participated in high-level panels and discussions with state officials.
Their visit also aligned with Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Day and Industry Day on May 6, focusing on advancing business-friendly policies and recognizing the vital contributions of the oil and gas sector to the state’s economy.
Beyond the scheduled programming, Johnson and Hemingway attended key committee meetings addressing broadband expansion, digital media tax credits, and other issues closely monitored by the Chamber.
