A record number of high school students earned college credentials through Bossier Parish Community College’s dual enrollment and early college programs during the 2024-2025 academic year.
A total of 112 high school students from across North Louisiana graduated from BPCC this year, collectively earning 161 college credentials. The milestone highlights the growing success of the College’s partnerships with regional school districts and its continued focus on academic and workforce readiness.
“We’re so excited to celebrate this huge milestone for our students,” said Jamie Hilburn, BPCC’s dual enrollment coordinator. “This achievement highlights the incredible opportunities that dual enrollment provides, and we couldn’t be prouder. Because of the strong collaboration between BPCC and our local school districts, these graduates are stepping into their next chapter—whether pursuing higher education or entering the workforce—with the skills and confidence to succeed.”
While students across the region participated in the dual enrollment program, the most active engagement came from Bienville, Sabine, Natchitoches, and DeSoto parish schools. The most sought-after programs among graduates included the Associate of General Studies, Certificate of General Studies, Electrician Technology, Emergency Medical Technician, Nursing Assistant, and Welding—fields critical to Louisiana’s workforce and economic development.
BPCC’s dual enrollment program allows eligible high school students to earn college credit in core academic and technical courses. The program not only introduces students to college-level coursework but also provides a head start toward in-demand career pathways.
“Being able to earn credits—and a degree—not only prepared me for college life and future courses, but also helped me begin my academic journey,” said Noah Severin, a BPCC graduate and student at North DeSoto High School.
Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr. praised the dedication of school districts, college personnel, and students.
“Our commitment to preparing students throughout Northwest Louisiana for college and careers is stronger than ever,” Bateman said. “Thanks to our wonderful K-12 partners and the dedication of our faculty and staff, we are helping young people unlock their potential and drive the prosperity of our region.”
