BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Port of Caddo-Bossier reported record activity in the first quarter of 2026, with shipping volumes reaching new highs across both rail and barge transport, according to a post on the port’s LinkedIn page.
The port said it maintained a pace of more than one barge per day during the quarter, reflecting increased demand and throughput. Total shipments included 194,062.67 tons moved by barge and 144,331.67 tons transported by rail.
Port officials attributed the performance to continued efficiency in handling high-volume cargo and ongoing efforts to support regional economic growth through multimodal transportation.
The Port of Caddo-Bossier serves as a key logistics hub in northwest Louisiana, providing access to rail and inland waterway networks that connect regional industries to domestic and international markets.
