SHREVEPORT, La. — Ochsner LSU Health – Academic Medical Center has been selected as the only hospital in Louisiana to participate in the American Heart Association’s IMPLEMENT-EF initiative, a three-year national program aimed at improving care for patients with heart failure.
The initiative, supported by Bayer, focuses on enhancing treatment for patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and heart failure with mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF), conditions that represent up to 75 percent of all heart failure cases.
Through IMPLEMENT-EF, Ochsner LSU Health will collaborate with 39 hospitals across the country to identify care gaps, define optimal care models, and promote the use of evidence-based therapies. The program emphasizes team-based care and the use of real-world data to improve outcomes for heart failure patients.
“Being part of this initiative underscores our commitment to providing the highest quality care for our patients,” said Chris Mangin, CEO of Ochsner LSU Health – Academic Medical Center. “Heart failure is a complex condition, and this program allows us to work alongside national experts to implement innovative, evidence-based solutions designed to improve outcomes for our community.”
Participating hospitals will gain access to educational resources and opportunities to collaborate with leading cardiovascular experts. Findings from the initiative will help shape the American Heart Association’s broader strategies for improving heart failure care nationwide.
Ochsner LSU Health’s involvement in the program highlights its continued commitment to advancing patient care and improving health outcomes across Louisiana. More information about the initiative is available at heart.org/IMPLEMENTEF.
