SHREVEPORT, La. – The Greater Shreveport Chamber’s Business Development Connection (BDC) is now accepting nominations for its annual Minority Business Opportunity Awards. This prestigious event recognizes outstanding minority individuals and businesses making a significant impact in the local community.
Each year, the awards celebrate excellence, leadership, and business success among Chamber members in the following categories:
- Top Business Professional of the Year – Recognizes a minority individual who demonstrates outstanding professional excellence, leadership, and community service.
- Emerging Business of the Year – Honors a new minority-owned business that is poised for growth and has made a strong impression in the business community.
- Small Business Owner of the Year – Acknowledges a minority entrepreneur who owns and operates a thriving small business (fewer than 50 employees). Partnerships may be nominated as a team if the number does not exceed four.
- Non-Profit Professional of the Year – Recognizes a leader in the non-profit sector who has shown exemplary dedication to community service, particularly in expanding opportunities for minorities. (This category is open to all professionals, regardless of minority status.)
