BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Bossier City-Parish Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) is warning the public about a scam involving fraudulent invoices sent to residents, property owners, and applicants involved in local planning or zoning matters.
According to the MPC, the fraudulent documents falsely claim to be issued by “The City of Bossier City Planning Commission” and request payment for processing planning or zoning applications. These scam invoices often appear legitimate, using real case numbers, employee names, and other publicly available information to appear credible.

The MPC emphasized that it does not send invoices via mail or email in PDF format. Any correspondence of this nature should be treated as suspicious.
Key red flags include:
- Payment requests from unverified or unfamiliar sources
- Emails sent from unofficial or suspicious addresses
- Language that creates urgency or pressures for immediate payment
- PDF attachments claiming to be invoices
Authorities are urging anyone who receives one of these fraudulent invoices not to respond or send payment. Instead, recipients should report the incident immediately to the Bossier City Police Department or the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The MPC encourages residents to verify the legitimacy of any communication regarding planning or zoning matters by contacting the Commission directly. For more information or to confirm the status of an application, visit the official MPC website or call the MPC office.
