SHREVEPORT, La. — Centenary College will honor military service members during its annual Veterans Day Tribute on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in the Hargrove Memorial Amphitheatre. Major General Jason R. Armagost, commander of the Eighth Air Force and Joint-Global Strike Operations Center at Barksdale Air Force Base, will deliver the keynote address.
The Centenary College Choir will perform during the ceremony, and veterans among the college’s students, faculty, administration, and staff will be recognized.
Armagost is a decorated U.S. Air Force leader with thousands of flight hours in the B-2A, B-52H, T-38A, and other aircraft. Before his current command at Barksdale, he led the 13th Bomb Squadron at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, and the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing in Qatar. His operational experience includes participation in Operations Desert Strike and Enduring Freedom, with more than 400 combat hours logged.
The Veterans Day Tribute is free and open to the public. Parking will be available in Lot 13 at the corner of Centenary Boulevard and Rutherford Street. In case of rain, the event will move indoors to Anderson Auditorium at Centenary’s Hurley School of Music.
