BOSSIER PARISH, La. – Lynn Beaty, a Haughton resident and longtime business owner, was sworn in as the Bossier Parish Police Juror for District 1 during the regular Police Jury meeting Wednesday. Judge Jeff Thompson administered the oath of office.
Before the ceremony, Jury President Glenn Benton presented former interim juror Kim Gaspard with a plaque recognizing his service representing District 1 from January 25 to October 1, following the death of longtime juror Bob Brotherton.
Beaty was elected in October to fill the seat previously held by Brotherton, whose service and leadership were acknowledged during the meeting. Beaty brings decades of experience in the timber and construction industries, having founded Beaty Logging in 1977. He also co-hosted the outdoor television series The Way It Was, which highlighted Louisiana’s natural heritage.
District 1 covers the southern portion of Bossier Parish and extends north through Haughton. Beaty said his priorities include improving infrastructure, enhancing public safety, promoting responsible growth, and supporting law enforcement.
“I’m honored to serve the people of District 1 and continue the legacy of leadership and service that Bob Brotherton exemplified,” Beaty said. “I look forward to working with my fellow jurors to keep Bossier Parish strong and moving forward.”
The ceremony was held at the Bossier Parish Courthouse as part of the jury’s regular agenda meeting.
