BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Lottery is joining lotteries across North America to celebrate National Lottery Week, July 14–18, shining a spotlight on the ways lottery programs give back to communities across the state.
Each day of the week will feature a different theme, highlighting how the Lottery supports players, retailers, and Louisiana’s public education system—culminating Friday with a Facebook prize giveaway.
Here’s what’s planned for the week:
- Monday – Focus on Responsible Gaming: The Lottery will share its responsible gaming video, promoting safe play habits and resources for those in need.
- Tuesday – Winners Spotlight: From instant wins to second-chance drawings, the Lottery will feature stories from past winners. To date, the Louisiana Lottery has paid out over $5 billion in prizes.
- Wednesday – Retailer Appreciation: The spotlight will shine on some of the nearly 3,000 retail partners who sell Lottery products and how the partnership supports local business.
- Thursday (National Lottery Day) – Education Contributions: The Lottery will showcase the over $4.9 billion raised for K-12 public education since its inception, celebrating its impact across Louisiana.
“We always strive to give Louisianians the best bang for their buck by offering engaging and exciting lottery games and promotions,” said Lottery President Rose Hudson. “But the true reason to smile is giving back to our communities by raising over $4.9 billion for K-12 public education since our inception!”
