BATON ROUGE, LA — Louisiana Lottery players had plenty of reasons to celebrate in March, with more than $29 million in total winnings claimed across scratch-off games, draw-style lotteries, and instant-win Fast Play games, according to a monthly report released by the Louisiana Lottery Corporation.
Scratch-Offs Lead the Pack
Scratch-off game players took home $19.4 million in cash prizes, including a standout top prize of $200,000 from the 50X game, sold in Baker. In addition, scratch-off winners claimed over $2.5 million in free-ticket prizes throughout the month.
Players are encouraged to check the Lottery’s website for updates on remaining prizes and closure deadlines for each scratch-off game at louisianalottery.com/scratch-offs.
Draw-Style Games Deliver $9 Million in Winnings
Louisiana’s popular draw-style games awarded a combined $9 million in prizes from March drawings. Noteworthy highlights include:
- Pick 3: $4.6 million in winnings
- Pick 4: $1.7 million

- Easy 5: $256,828 including two jackpots totaling $160,000

Additionally, Powerball and Mega Millions games contributed significantly to the total payout.
- Powerball players saw $371,699 in combined winnings, bolstered by the Power Play option, which gave nearly 32,000 players an extra $229,148.
- Mega Millions players collected $200,852 in total winnings, including $129,478 in Megaplier bonuses for more than 15,000 participants.
One player matched 4 + Megaball with Megaplier to win $20,000, while another matched 4 + MB without Megaplier to win $10,000.
Fast Play Continues Momentum
Players of the Lottery’s Fast Play instant-win terminal games also had a lucky month, claiming $821,294 in prizes. Fast Play tickets can be claimed for up to 90 days after the game’s closure, with game info and deadlines available at louisianalottery.com/fast-play.
Game Revenue Benefits Louisiana Education
While prize payouts vary monthly, the Lottery allocated 57.58% of revenue to prizes in fiscal year 2024. Notably, 31.87% of revenue—nearly one-third—was transferred to the state treasury to support Louisiana’s Minimum Foundation Program for K-12 public education. The remainder supported retailer commissions (5.55%) and operational costs (4.98%).
Play Responsibly
Lottery officials remind players to play responsibly and check tickets promptly. “Even if a ticket doesn’t win the jackpot, it could still be worth another prize,” said Lottery President Rose Hudson. She also encouraged players to sign the back of their tickets upon purchase and visit the Lottery’s website for information on claiming winnings and remaining prizes.
