BATON ROUGE, La. — Executives, companies, and projects shaping Louisiana’s energy sector will be recognized this fall at the inaugural Louisiana Energy Awards, hosted by 10/12 Industry Report.
The event is scheduled for Nov. 5 at L’Auberge Casino & Hotel in Baton Rouge and will highlight achievements across oil and gas, liquefied natural gas, carbon capture, hydrogen, and emerging technologies.
Roland Toups, chairman emeritus of Turner Industries, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for a career that began in 1968 and helped expand Turner into a multibillion-dollar contractor with more than 20,000 employees. Toups, a U.S. Air Force veteran, has also served in leadership roles with the Louisiana Board of Regents and the Greater Baton Rouge Chamber.
The Danos Foundation will be recognized for its philanthropic efforts, which have distributed more than $1.4 million to nonprofits across Louisiana and beyond through programs focused on education, disaster relief, and community engagement.
In addition, finalists were named in five categories, with winners to be announced live at the event:
- Energy Deal of the Year: Meta’s $10 billion artificial intelligence data center in north Louisiana; Heirloom’s direct air capture agreement with United Airlines Ventures’ Sustainable Flight Fund at the Port of Caddo-Bossier; and Woodside Energy’s $18.7 billion acquisition of Tellurian Inc., transferring the Driftwood LNG project in Calcasieu Parish.
- Small/Mid-Sized Company of the Year: Placid Refining Co. of Port Allen; Baton Rouge-based Orion Engineers & Constructors; and Loadstar, a Baton Rouge logistics provider.
- Large Company of the Year: ExxonMobil, with its carbon capture investments including Denbury’s pipeline network; Cheniere Energy, the nation’s largest LNG producer; and Entergy Louisiana, cited for grid resilience and clean energy initiatives.
- Emerging Energy Leader: Camile Ivy-O’Donnell of Chevron USA Inc.; Anna Johnson of the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce; and Kellen Francis, CEO of CodeGig.
- Energy Executive of the Year: Entergy President and CEO Phillip May; Greater Lafourche Port Commission Executive Director Chett Chiasson; and Danos CEO Paul Danos.
