BOSSIER CITY, La. — Louisiana Downs Racetrack and Casino will host a July 3 event featuring racing, live entertainment and fireworks as part of broader celebrations marking the United States’ 250th anniversary.
The venue said activities will begin at 3 p.m., including family-focused attractions such as a designated children’s area and on-site food vendors. Dining options inside the facility will also be available during the event.
A full schedule of thoroughbred racing is planned for the day, with the first race set for 4:05 p.m. The racing program is expected to drive attendance and wagering activity during the holiday period, a traditionally strong window for racetracks and casinos.
Following the final race, a live concert will take place, with a fireworks display scheduled afterward. The event is positioned as part of the venue’s broader effort to attract regional visitors and increase foot traffic during peak summer travel.
Louisiana Downs, which opened in 1974, operates both a racetrack and casino facility. The property was acquired by Rubico Acquisition Corporation in 2021 and includes slot machines, food and beverage operations, and seasonal live racing programs.
