SHREVEPORT, La. – Local Market On Line has received the Snail of Approval award from Slow Food North Louisiana, recognizing the Shreveport-based business for its commitment to “good, clean and fair” food practices.
The international designation honors food businesses that demonstrate excellence in areas such as sourcing, environmental impact, cultural connection, community involvement, staff support, and business values.
“Slow Food North Louisiana has been celebrating local food and working to broaden our local food ecosystem since 2007,” said chapter Chairwoman Angie White. “Being able to shine a bright light on the local food businesses that are doing the same and also prioritizing good, clean and fair practices brings us tremendous joy.”
Local Market On Line, which celebrated its second anniversary in late November, offers a wide range of locally sourced products, including dairy, produce, baked goods, meats, and prepared foods. The store also houses Shreveport Biscuit Company.
El Cabo Verde, another Shreveport restaurant, received a Snail of Approval in 2023.
