BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), in collaboration with the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA), is kicking off Community College Week 2025 from March 24–28 with a statewide celebration highlighting career pathways, workforce training, and the transformative role of Louisiana’s two-year colleges.
Now in its sixth year, Community College Week (CCW) honors the vital impact of Louisiana’s 12 community and technical colleges, which serve more than 150,000 students annually through academic programs, workforce certifications, and short-term training.
Throughout the week, more than 100 events will take place across the state—from resume workshops, FAFSA completion sessions, career fairs, open houses, and even a fashion show—each designed to connect students and prospective learners with real-world opportunities and showcase the energy of student life and community engagement on campus.
“Community colleges are Louisiana’s most accessible and adaptable higher education institutions, providing students with skills that lead to immediate career opportunities,” said Dr. Monty Sullivan, President of LCTCS. “Our colleges are at the center of workforce transformation, connecting students with high-demand careers while fueling local economies. Community College Week allows us to celebrate this impact and encourage more Louisianians to take advantage of the opportunities available at their local colleges.”
