Second Major AI Project in Two Weeks Highlights Louisiana’s Growing Tech Sector
NEW ORLEANS, LA — Copado, a Chicago-based leader in AI-powered DevOps software, has announced the establishment of an innovation office in New Orleans. The move marks the second significant AI-related technology project win for Louisiana within two weeks, underscoring the state’s growing prominence as a hub for tech and artificial intelligence innovation.
Job Creation and Economic Impact
Copado’s New Orleans office is expected to generate 20 direct new jobs with an average annual salary of $80,000, 11 of which have already been filled. Louisiana Economic Development (LED) estimates the project will also create 23 indirect jobs, resulting in a total of 43 new jobs in the Southeast Region.
“Louisiana is rapidly emerging as a national hub for growth and innovation in the tech sector, especially in the evolving AI space,” said LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois. “We’re thrilled to welcome Copado and appreciate their recognition of the opportunities and forward-thinking business environment Louisiana offers.”
Driving Innovation and Collaboration
Founded in 2013 by two engineers who developed the first end-to-end native DevOps platform for Salesforce, Copado works with major brands such as Coca-Cola, T-Mobile, and Volkswagen to align software development with core business processes, optimize pre-built solutions, and enable continuous collaboration through AI-powered agents.
“This isn’t just about opening an office; it’s about planting a seed of progress,” said Copado CEO Ted Elliott. “New Orleans, with its culture and resilience, is poised to become a beacon of tech innovation. We’re building more than a business here — we’re building the future.”
The company will operate out of The Shop at CAC, a coworking space in downtown New Orleans, and has already begun commercial operations with plans to expand its workforce, particularly in technical roles.
State Support and Incentives
To secure Copado’s investment, LED offered a competitive incentives package, including workforce development solutions through LED FastStart and participation in the state’s Quality Jobs program.
“Copado’s decision to establish a tech innovation hub in New Orleans enhances our region’s position as a center for technology,” said Michael Hecht, President and CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc. “Their investment in high-wage, high-skill jobs showcases the opportunities for companies to scale in a city that blends innovation with unmatched quality of life.”
Louisiana’s AI Momentum
Copado’s announcement follows closely on the heels of Meta’s recent $10 billion investment in northeast Louisiana to build its largest AI data center, solidifying Louisiana’s status as a leader in the tech and AI sectors.
