BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development said Thursday that the $127 million Interstate 20 rehabilitation project in Bossier City is more than 90% complete, with major ramp and paving work continuing.
The I-20 eastbound off-ramp to U.S. 71 (Barksdale Boulevard) is set to reopen the evening of Aug. 28 following reconstruction. Shortly afterward, the I-20 eastbound off-ramp to Louisiana 3 (Benton Road) will close for roadway approach work to the flyover bridge. That ramp is expected to remain closed until late December.
Detours will direct eastbound motorists to Benton Road via the Old Minden Road interchange.
DOTD said concrete paving operations are underway on the Louisiana 3105 (Airline Drive) on- and off-ramps, which are expected to reopen in late October or early November. Westbound on-ramps from both Barksdale Boulevard and Benton Road are expected to reopen in late November, weather permitting.
The full project, which includes new travel lanes, ramp work, drainage improvements and related construction, is scheduled to be completed in late 2025 or early 2026.
Travel updates are available through 511la.org and the DOTD mobile app.
