SHREVEPORT, La. – Holy Angels will host players from Louisiana Tech University and Coastal Carolina University later this month as part of its annual Independence Bowl tradition that connects college athletes with residents through games, conversation, and community activities.
The Louisiana Tech team is scheduled to visit the Holy Angels campus on Dec. 28 at 1 p.m., followed by the Coastal Carolina team on Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. Players from both programs will meet with residents, join in recreational activities, and share in the organization’s signature homemade cookies decorated in each team’s colors.
The visits have become a longstanding highlight for Holy Angels residents, many of whom are avid sports fans. The organization said the annual event underscores its commitment to fostering inclusion and joy through meaningful community engagement.
Holy Angels provides job training, day programs, residential services, and educational opportunities for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Its campus-based programs aim to promote independence and quality of life for participants ages two through 21 and adults across northwest Louisiana.
