SHREVEPORT, LA – In 2017, Hargrove Roofing was born. Operating out of a 200 square foot office in downtown Shreveport, their initial goal was to be a dependable roofing company for Shreveport-Bossier.
Everything that’s happened since wasn’t exactly part of the plan (in a good way).
After eight years of growth, Hargrove Roofing has upgraded their headquartered office, moving to a brand-new facility in Shreveport, LA with 12,000 square feet.
This is one of many changes that the company (listed as one of the Top 100 roofing companies in the country for five years running) will be making soon.
Hargrove Roofing, which started in 2017, now has ten locations across Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas with plans for more, with a Baton Rouge location launching in 2026 (and partnering with the LSU Tigers, naturally).
It’s a far cry from where they started but comes on the heels of considerable success – more than enough to warrant the expansion.
Their new office speaks to that but is not the only reason it was done.
“We didn’t just build this because we needed more square footage – we built it to give our employees a great experience at work, which they deserve,” said CEO Billy Hargrove
CFO Anna Cox added: “We love the new office and space. It’s nice finally having everyone under one roof; the departments were split up in the past. We can also have events here outside of work to bring everyone together and enjoy each other’s company.”
The property is located on 742 N Ashley Ridge Loop and is closer to town than their former building.
When it came time to construct the new space, Hargrove knew where to take the project: Somdal Associates, where he worked years prior as an architect.
“They did a great job, so it was an easy process. I know the caliber of professionalism they bring to the table.”
It also cements Hargrove Roofing as a staple of the community, with the company having supplied roofs for Oschner, Willis Knighton and CHRISTUS hospitals. Not to mention schools.
“It’s important to us that we take care of Shreveport. It’s where we started, and at the end of the day, it’s home,” Hargrove said.
Part of their impact comes from the number of people they employ, locally. They’ve roofed over 6,000 residential roofs in seven years – and that’s just in Shreveport-Bossier.
“While we’ve enjoyed expanding, it’s never been about the location. We start by finding good people, and if that part makes sense, we’ll go from there. It’s not just picking out a place on a map,” said Gage Liles, the President of Residential Sales.
“We’re very open-minded here and like to try new things.”
Another upcoming venture? Contributing their logo to the Houston Astros organization.
“We’re so proud of getting to work with a world class organization like the Houston Astros. It’s truly been an honor, so reaching the point where we can put our logo out there for the world to see is a pretty incredible milestone for us”, said Hargrove.
Not to mention their partnerships with the likes of the Texas Rangers and Texas Longhorns (admittedly, Hargrove is a bit of a sports nut). But it’s not limited to athletics – Hargrove Roofing also has clients like the Houston Zoo, and even do work for Matthew McConaughey’s foundation, Just Keep Livin’.
If it seems like they have a lot going on, well, it’s because they do.
With Hargrove Roofing it’s all gas, no brakes.
Sales Manager Rachel Osbon said: “I’m proud of how much we focus on the team. We‘re able to be selective when we interview potential employees. When I first started here back in ’17, we would take just about anyone. It’s not that way anymore.”
“Witnessing our growth has been phenomenal, especially as such a young company,” Cox added.
Cox thinks of her time at Hargrove as ‘the change she never knew she needed’.
“You really can’t find what we have here at any other company. It’s a very special place, and I know everyone working here would agree with me.”
Hargrove Roofing will also be bringing on a new COO in Ed Adams, who was formerly with SRS and Home Depot – arguably the biggest change among a sort of others. His objective is to double the company’s growth.
Adams said the company had been on his radar for some time.
“I’ve been in the roofing industry for 26 years, so just seeing them do the right things, make the right choices and grow with integrity made me want to help take it to the next level and fuel the fire. That’s what I do and what I love. As Billy would say, they’re ‘good humans’ and have a good company. They want to do the right things and grow. That’s what makes me excited for the business.”
Hargrove is equally enthused. “Ed’s someone we’ve depended on a lot and a guy that everyone loves, so when we decided to expand and bring someone new into the fold, he was an easy choice.”
For Hargrove Roofing, the sky’s the limit – but it starts and ends with their CEO.
“Billy is the hardest worker we have. He does a lot of things people don’t even see, things he doesn’t get credit for. He’s the first one in and the last to leave. He’s been a mentor, for me,” said Liles.
“Working for Billy is fun. Plus, he rarely says no,” added Senior Accountant Emma Melson.
As for Hargrove, he’s still wrapping his head around how far they’ve come.
“Right now, we have 290 employees. It’s wild to think we started with just my brother and I,” he said. “We’re all close here, and do our best to listen and respect each other, which really creates a strong, lasting culture. Our success is a testament to every single person on this team, at all locations.”
“We’re never afraid to bet on ourselves at Hargrove Roofing.”
And for good reason, it seems.
