SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, LA – The Formula 1 Powerboat Championship (F1PC) is making a highly anticipated return to the Red River this Memorial Day Weekend, with the 2025 Red River Rumble set to bring speed, spectacle, and Southern celebration to Shreveport-Bossier from May 24–26.
Hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission of Visit Shreveport-Bossier, the weekend-long event will feature more than 50 of the fastest F1 powerboats in the nation, racing deck-to-deck through tight, technical courses at speeds reaching 120 mph.
“We are incredibly excited to bring Formula 1 Powerboat racing back to Shreveport-Bossier,” said Tim Seebold, Managing Director of F1PC. “This community has a special place in my heart—it’s where I earned my final national title. We can’t wait to deliver another unforgettable weekend on the Red River.”
Free, Family-Friendly Fun Along the Riverfront
Prime viewing will be available at Riverview Park in Downtown Shreveport and along the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City. The event is free to attend, with VIP packages available at the Shreveport Aquarium for enhanced experiences.
Event highlights include:
- Friday, May 23 at 10 AM – Opening Press Conference behind Shreveport Aquarium
- Friday, May 23, 6–8:30 PM – F1PC Block Party at the Louisiana Boardwalk with boat displays, driver meet-and-greets, autographs, and fan photo ops
- Saturday, May 24 – Official racing begins
- Sunday, May 25 – Championship races and awards
Live streaming will be available via Live Race Media on Facebook and YouTube, with real-time results at f1pc.livemotorsports.com.
A Festival of Speed and Culture
The Red River Rumble coincides with the 41st Annual Mudbug Madness Festival, blending high-octane racing with Louisiana’s signature crawfish, music, and culture.
“The synergy between Mudbug Madness and the Formula 1 Powerboat Championship elevates both experiences,” said Terri Matthews, Event Coordinator for Mudbug Madness. “It’s a celebration of what makes Shreveport-Bossier a vibrant, exciting destination.”
