NEW ORLEANS, La. – Entergy Louisiana and Entergy New Orleans are mobilizing crews and contractors in anticipation of a potential tropical system forecasted to impact South Louisiana. With the system expected to bring severe weather, both utilities are urging customers to prepare now by finalizing personal storm plans and assembling emergency kits.
The companies report that materials and staffing are ready to be deployed based on the storm’s path and severity. Entergy’s storm team is positioned to work extended hours post-landfall to restore power safely and efficiently.
“As we begin to put our plans into place, we are urging our customers to take the potential of severe weather seriously and stay prepared,” said Shelton Hudson, vice president of reliability for Entergy in Louisiana. “Now is not the time to let your guard down—please take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of your family and your home.”
Both Entergy Louisiana and Entergy New Orleans are currently undertaking major grid resiliency upgrades. Entergy Louisiana is in the first phase of its five-year, $1.9 billion resilience plan, which includes more than 2,100 projects to fortify nearly 69,000 transmission and distribution structures. Entergy New Orleans launched its accelerated resilience plan in mid-2025, encompassing 65 projects to harden more than 3,000 structures and upgrade 63 miles of power lines.
