SHREVEPORT, La. – Chen Lin, MD, MBA, has been appointed Chair of the Department of Neurology at LSU Health Shreveport, effective August 18.
Dr. Lin joins LSU Health Shreveport from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he served as Associate Professor in the Heersink School of Medicine’s Department of Neurology, Division of Cerebrovascular Disease and Epilepsy Center. He also directed the UAB Stroke Recovery Clinic and the UAB Neuro-Recovery Program.
A graduate of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Dr. Lin completed his medical internship and neurology residency at Duke University, where he served as Chief Resident. Following residency, he pursued advanced training through a NIH StrokeNet Research Fellowship and a Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago.
Dr. Lin’s research centers on improving post-stroke outcomes during rehabilitation and recovery, with an emphasis on enhancing quality of life. He holds board certifications in General Neurology and Vascular Neurology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
He is an active member of several national and international organizations, including the American Heart Association, American Academy of Neurology, American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, and the World Stroke Organization.
