SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, La. – Visit Shreveport-Bossier, in partnership with the Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP), a division of BRF, has opened applications for the second annual Destination 318 tourism business competition. The $100,000 challenge aims to support entrepreneurs and strengthen the tourism economy across Caddo and Bossier parishes.
Launched in 2025, Destination 318 funds innovative projects that enhance the visitor experience, fill gaps in the tourism market, and improve quality of life for residents. Business ideas must align with the region’s Destination Master Plan and fall within categories such as outdoor recreation and sports, hospitality, arts, culture, or entertainment.
“After seeing the success of Destination 318 in its first year, we’re excited to see this initiative return and continue growing,” said Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux. “These kinds of investments help us showcase Shreveport’s identity, create new visitor experiences, and drive real economic impact for local residents and businesses.”
Bossier City Mayor Tommy Chandler said the program builds regional pride while expanding opportunities for entrepreneurs. “By supporting local entrepreneurs, we’re building a stronger sense of place and giving visitors more reasons to explore, stay longer, and come back,” he said.
“Destination 318 was designed to turn local concepts into tourism experiences that are authentic to Shreveport-Bossier’s culture,” said Stacy Brown, president and CEO of Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “We want visitors to leave with a real connection to the destination, and for residents to feel proud of what we’re building.”
Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27. Applicants must attend three mandatory educational workshops hosted by EAP, which will cover marketing, business model development, and long-term growth strategies.
“Destination 318 is the kind of opportunity that helps a region tell its story in new ways,” said Dave Smith with EAP. “When entrepreneurs shape ideas into real businesses, it strengthens the sense of place visitors feel—and the pride residents feel too.”
Winners will share the $100,000 in prize funding and receive professional support from Bonvenu Bank, Bradley Murchison Kelly & Shea, and Carr, Riggs & Ingram CPAs and Advisors.
