Bossier Parish Community College and the Division of Business and Information Technology invites members of the media to attend and cover Cyber Week at BPCC, a dynamic, weeklong series of events dedicated to showcasing the college’s academic excellence, industry partnerships, and community engagement. Designed to spotlight BPCC’s role as a leader in technology education and workforce development, Cyber Week will provide numerous opportunities for photos, video coverage, and interviews with students, faculty, and industry partners.
Cyber Week at BPCC aligns with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, recognized each October across the United States as a time to highlight the importance of safeguarding digital information and preparing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. By hosting Cyber Week during this nationally recognized observance, BPCC underscores its commitment to educating students, engaging the community, and supporting workforce needs in one of today’s most critical and rapidly growing fields.
Throughout the week, BPCC will host events that not only highlight career pathways in cybersecurity and technology, but also demonstrate the college’s commitment to preparing students for in-demand careers and connecting them with employers. Media will have access to compelling visuals and stories, from high school students exploring future opportunities to college students and community members strengthening their leadership and professional skills.
Highlights of Cyber Week include GDIT Day, a special lunch and learn event in partnership with General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT); the Computer Technology Career Day Expo, welcoming local high school students to experience hands-on demonstrations and meet with faculty; Leadership Skills Day, a motivating program focused on building confidence, communication, and career-ready leadership skills. Each event underscores BPCC’s mission of fostering student success and fueling economic growth across Northwest Louisiana.
