SHREVEPORT, La. — Carr, Riggs & Ingram, a top 25 accounting and advisory firm, has appointed Michael Gould as partner-in-charge of its Shreveport practice, effective Jan. 1. Gould succeeds Tom Simms, who held the leadership role since 2012.
Simms said Gould “exemplifies everything we value at CRI — technical excellence, client commitment, and community engagement,” noting his 22 years with the firm and deep community involvement across Northwest Louisiana.
Gould, a partner with Carr, Riggs & Ingram, L.L.C. and CRI Advisors, LLC, has more than two decades of experience serving nonprofit organizations, local governments, healthcare entities, and construction companies in Northern Louisiana and Texas. His areas of specialization include audit, review, and compilation services, Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, and employee benefit plan audits.
He holds CPA, CITP, and CGMA credentials and earned his accounting degree from Louisiana State University–Shreveport. Gould is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, where he previously served as president of the Shreveport chapter.
Active in community service, Gould serves on the boards of the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana, The Arc Caddo-Bossier, and the LSUS Alumni Association. He was named a Greater Shreveport Chamber 40 Under Forty honoree in 2020.
