(The Center Square) – The Caddo Commission presented monthly financials for September showing a collected amount of $96,788 in general revenues for the General Fund, with anticipation of over $12 million in general revenues this year.
The detailed report outlines revenues and expenses throughout the parish, including salarary spending year-to-date.
Caddo Parish anticipates receiving $19.3 million in revenues to balance the budgeted $18.8 million in general fund expenses leaving a net gain of around $473,000 at the end of the year. However, year-to-date, the parish is in a $4.4 million loss with only $7.8 million in revenue and $12.3 million in expenses.
Last month, the parish spent $88,598 more than it received in revenue.
In September, the parish paid $20,679 to regular salary commission employees and $21,053 to commissioners. The city is budgeting to spend $265,360 on regular commission employees and $273,710 on commissioners this year, according to the financial report.
There is an expected $9 million loss for the Public Works Fund at the end of the year with $22 million in revenues and $31 million in expenses. In September, the parish spent $2.5 million from the fund leaving them in a $2.2 million deficit.
From the Juvenile Justice Fund, the parish has paid $1 million in salaries year-to-date and $3.1 million in probation operations with a projected $1.2 million loss at the end of the year. Last month, the parish brought in $353,910 in revenue to the fund while expensing $752,861.
Overall, while revenues sit high for specific funds, many are projected to take a loss, including the Detention Facilities Fund and Parks and Recreation Fund.
In total, the parish’s Governmental Funds are projecting a $68 million loss this year with $10 million lost in September.
