BOSSIER CITY, LA — Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is set to celebrate student creativity and achievement at the upcoming reception and awards presentation for Savoir Faire, Volume 67, the College’s annual juried art and literary magazine. The event will be held on Thursday, April 24, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Donna Service Gallery, located on the first floor of the John R. McConathy Administration Building on BPCC’s Bossier campus.
Savoir Faire showcases the creative talents of BPCC students, featuring a curated selection of original visual art and written works. The project, which includes both a gallery exhibit and a professionally produced magazine, is led by BPCC faculty members Kelly McDade (Art) and Jonathan Brown (English). Each year, submissions are reviewed by a panel of jurors, who select the most compelling entries for publication and exhibition.
“This magazine and exhibit highlight the artistic and literary talents of BPCC’s students, providing them with a platform to share their voices and creativity with the community,” said Dean Mary Adams of the Division of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. “We are incredibly proud of the students whose work is featured in Savoir Faire this year.”
The April 24 reception will provide attendees with the opportunity to meet the student artists and writers, view their work, and celebrate the award-winning entries. The exhibit will remain on display through May 5 and can be viewed during regular campus business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information about Savoir Faire or the upcoming reception, contact the Division of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at [email protected] or visit bpcc.edu/savoirfaire.
