BOSSIER CITY, La. – Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is celebrating a major milestone: its Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program has achieved the highest NCLEX pass rate among all ASN programs in Louisiana, according to the second quarter edition of The Examiner published by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN).
With an impressive 98.72% pass rate, BPCC not only leads all two-year colleges in the state but also outperforms four-year institutions—cementing its place at the forefront of nursing education in Louisiana.
“This recognition is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our students, the passion and expertise of our faculty, and the comprehensive support system we’ve built at BPCC,” said Michael Whitaker, Dean of Nursing and Allied Health. “We are committed to delivering a program that not only meets but exceeds national standards, and this top NCLEX pass rate affirms that we’re doing just that.”
The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is the final requirement for nursing graduates to become licensed registered nurses. A high pass rate is widely considered a strong indicator of a program’s ability to prepare students for real-world clinical practice.
“This distinction reflects the excellence that defines Bossier Parish Community College,” added Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr., Chancellor of BPCC. “Our nursing program has long been known for its innovation and academic rigor, and now we can proudly say it stands at the very top in Louisiana. We are proud of our students, faculty, and staff who have made this milestone possible.”
BPCC’s Division of Nursing and Allied Health emphasizes hands-on clinical experience, cutting-edge instruction, and personalized student support. This proven formula continues to produce career-ready graduates equipped to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field.
The achievement reinforces BPCC’s growing reputation as one of the state’s premier institutions for nursing education and workforce preparation.
