BOSSIER CITY, La. — Bossier Parish Community College will launch an evening cohort in its Culinary Arts program on Sept. 11, offering a flexible option for students pursuing careers in the culinary and hospitality industries.
The program will include three courses — Food Preparation Principles, Basic Skills Development, and The Hospitality Industry — and will allow students to earn the Certified Kitchen Cook credential from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, a nationally recognized certification.
Quentin Calhoun, dean of business and information technology, said the evening track is designed to open opportunities for working adults. “By offering a flexible evening option, we are removing barriers for working adults who aspire to build or advance their careers in the culinary and hospitality fields,” Calhoun said.
Enrollment in the evening cohort will be limited to 15 students to provide a hands-on learning environment. Registration is open, with details available through BPCC’s business and information technology division.
