The Bossier Chamber of Commerce will host Louisiana Senate President Cameron Henry and House Speaker Phillip DeVillier on Tuesday as part of its Public Policy Series, presented by Willis Knighton Health.
The two lawmakers are scheduled to provide updates on legislative activity in Baton Rouge and its impact on businesses and residents. The program will also include reports from committee chairs on crime, education, tax reform, the state budget, transportation and insurance.
The chamber launched the Public Policy Series last week with a Q&A session featuring U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson. The series is designed to connect chamber members with state and federal officials through educational events.
Additional sessions are scheduled in October, including a presentation on Louisiana’s fiscal landscape with Secretary of Revenue Richard Nelson on Oct. 15, a leadership discussion with Leaders for a Better Louisiana CEO Adam Knapp on Oct. 20, and a workforce and economic development update with Louisiana Economic Development officials on Oct. 27.
Sponsors for the series include Willis Knighton Health, Barksdale Federal Credit Union, Expand Energy, Ochsner LSU Health and Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Homes. Registration details are available at bossierchamber.com.
