BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Bossier Chamber of Commerce will host Richard Nelson, Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Revenue, as part of its Public Policy Series presented by Willis Knighton Health. The event will take place Oct. 15 and include breakfast and a presentation on Louisiana’s financial landscape.
Nelson was appointed by Gov. Jeff Landry in 2024 to lead the Department of Revenue. Before joining the administration, he represented Louisiana’s 89th district in the state House of Representatives from 2020 to 2024. Earlier in his career, he spent seven years in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State, serving in Washington, D.C., Germany and the Republic of Georgia. As Secretary of Revenue, Nelson helped lead efforts to reform Louisiana’s tax code during the November 2024 special session.
The Public Policy Series is designed to connect chamber members with state and federal officials through educational discussions on policy and governance.
